BECHAR.

 Name relating to the announcement of the good news, located at an altitude of 784 meters, the city of BECHAR head of stages and connection between the North and the extreme South, is 700 km from Oran and 1000 km from Algiers. Raised to the rank of the mixed commune on July 8, 1919, it has been since August 7, 1957, the capital of the Saoura department. Taghit, 90 km from Bechar*, owes its name to its rocky terrain. Hidden by a hill overlooking it, this beautiful village appears in all its splendor at the top of the dominant coast.

Its palm grove adds to the site a very natural beauty; it presents itself in its opulent appearance and borders the wadi where the water of the Zousfana flows. The ksar retains its traditional character.
